Joe E. Ross is president, CEO and co-founder of Reach University and its National Center for the Apprenticeship Degree (NCAD). Reach is a nonprofit university advancing the Apprenticeship Degree, a work-embedded pathway that modernizes traditional higher education. Before building Reach, Ross led California's statewide association for county school boards and spent 10 years as a locally elected school board member.
Earlier, he served eight years on active duty in the U.S. Navy before becoming a deputy district attorney and later general counsel. The son of a U.S. Postal Service labor custodian, Ross was awarded a Truman Scholarship at Yale College and earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was president of the Stanford Law Review. Joe is the host of Apprenticeship 2.0 and has been published in Inside Higher Education, Work Shift, and Forbes.
