About me
Nickolas Gilbert is an award-winning filmmaker whose career spans more than three decades across screenwriting, directing, producing, cinematography, editing, color, and motion picture production. His work includes over 200 episodes of network television, more than 50 feature films, and hundreds of commercials, branded films, and digital projects. He has worked in the camera department on acclaimed productions including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Grand Crew, and Strange Angel, as well as studio features such as Oz the Great and Powerful, Red Dawn, Conviction, and Machine Gun Preacher.
As founder of Distortion Field, Nickolas develops and produces narrative and branded content from concept through delivery. His screenplay End of the Line won the Taylor Sheridan Mentorship Prize at ScreenCraft’s True Story & Public Domain Competition, while his film La Petite Mortimer received the CiVL Award for Advancing Human Respect in Media. He is a member of the Television Academy and the International Cinematographers Guild.
