About me
Stavros Anthony is Nevada’s 37th Lieutenant Governor, bringing more than four decades of experience in public service, law enforcement, higher education, and local government. A longtime Las Vegas resident, he began his career with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 1980, rising to the rank of captain and overseeing major divisions including Financial and Property Crimes, Vice/Narcotics, and Transportation Safety. After 29 years of service, he retired from law enforcement and continued his commitment to public service through elected office.
Anthony earned a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University, followed by a master’s degree and Ph.D. from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He served two terms on the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents before being elected to the Las Vegas City Council in 2009, where he represented Ward 4 for thirteen years and served as Mayor Pro Tem. Elected Lieutenant Governor in 2022, Anthony continues to focus on economic development, tourism, public safety, and strengthening opportunities for Nevada communities.
