About me
Kat Murti is Executive Director of Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP), the world's largest grassroots network dedicated to ending the War on Drugs and advancing policies rooted in evidence, compassion, and human rights. A veteran drug policy advocate, she has been working to replace prohibition with liberty and promote free market drug policy since 2007, including serving as a field director for California's historic Proposition 19 campaign to legalize cannabis and leading SSDP's efforts to take down the DEA ALJ court.
Beyond drug policy, Kat is a veteran of the Mercatus Center and the Cato Institute and a longtime leader in the liberty movement. She is a co-founder of Feminists for Liberty, serves on the board of the Ladies of Liberty Alliance (LOLA), and has spent more than two decades building communities that advance individual freedom, civil liberties, and limited government.
