Billy Carroll Smith is a Kentucky-based coal mining entrepreneur with more than four decades of experience in mining operations, management, and energy development. Beginning his career in the coal industry in 1978, he advanced from equipment operations to earning his Mine Foreman Certification in 1982 before launching his own mining businesses. Today, he leads several companies, including Carbon Energy, H1 Mining, Alloy Energy, Mine Management Group, Prime Energy Development, and JC1 Mining. Billy’s expertise spans mine safety, electrical systems, engineering, explosives, and operations management. A longtime Christian and Bible teacher, he is also devoted to family, community, and mentorship.
