About me
Andy Schoonover is the founder and CEO of CrowdHealth, a community-powered alternative to traditional health insurance focused on transparency, affordability, and patient empowerment. A healthcare entrepreneur and investor, Schoonover launched CrowdHealth after a personal experience with the shortcomings of the insurance system, when a routine procedure for his daughter resulted in a denied claim and an unexpected medical bill. That experience inspired him to rethink how healthcare could work outside the conventional insurance model.
Before founding CrowdHealth, Schoonover served as CEO of VRI, a healthcare technology company specializing in remote patient monitoring and medical alert systems. He previously worked in finance and acquisitions at Host Hotels & Resorts and later co-founded Blue Canyon Capital and Lion Venture Partners.
Schoonover earned a commerce degree from University of Virginia and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
