Young Voices: Dissidents
Saturday July 11, 2026 2:00pm - 2:45pm PDT
From Darkness to Freedom: A North Korean Survivor's Journey

What does it take to escape one of the world's most repressive regimes? Join Sam Raus (David Boaz Fellow, Young Voices) in conversation with Grace Jo, a North Korean defector and advocate for freedom, as she shares her extraordinary journey from life under one of history's most oppressive dictatorships to building a new life in freedom.

Grace will offer a rare first-hand account of growing up in North Korea, the immense risks she faced in seeking liberty, and the resilience that carried her through unimaginable hardship. Together, Sam and Grace will explore the human cost of tyranny, the power of free societies, and why the fight for liberty remains as urgent today as ever.

Presented by The Dissident Project and Young Voices, this compelling conversation will leave audiences with a deeper appreciation of freedom—and a renewed commitment to defending it wherever it is threatened.

Freedom Can't Wait: Federal Hostages of the War on Drugs
Saturday July 11, 2026 3:00pm - 3:45pm PDT
A government big enough to imprison peaceful people for cannabis is a government that has exceeded its proper limits.
President Trump showed bold leadership by granting clemency to people who were unjustly deprived of their liberty like Jimmy Romans and Ross Ulbricht, proving that the Constitution's clemency power can be used to correct government overreach. But the work is not finished. Nearly 3,000 individuals remain in federal prison for nonviolent cannabis offenses, many serving long term or life sentences for amounts of cannabis far less than legal dispensaries sell in a day, while over 200,000 Americans were arrested for marijuana just last year, almost all of them for simple possession.
Join SSDP Executive Director and longtime leader in the liberty movement Kat Murti for a powerful conversation with Lyn Ulbricht, whose tireless multiyear campaign helped secure President Trump's pardon of her son, Ross; Jimmy Romans, whose life sentence for a nonviolent cannabis offense was commuted by President Trump after more than 11 years behind bars; and Travis Cullen, a former federal cannabis prisoner turned legal cannabis industry entrepreneur who has dedicated his life to bringing every last cannabis prisoner home.
Together, they'll explore why freedom demands second chances, why the work of ending the injustices of cannabis prohibition is far from over, and how President Trump can use the constitutional power of clemency to ensure that no one remains behind bars for conduct that the vast majority of Americans agree should never have been a crime.

Freedom vs Factory Farms: How to Defend Liberty and Animals
Saturday July 11, 2026 3:00pm - 3:45pm PDT
Industrial animal agriculture is one of the most heavily subsidized, most regulated, and least scrutinized sectors of the American economy — it is also the source of more death and violence than anything else in the world’s history.

Can a coherent libertarian framework end the mass confinement and suffering of billions of sentient creatures? Does the state’s role in propping up factory farming through subsidies, liability shields, and ag-gag laws implicate advocates of limited government in something they’d otherwise oppose? And what does a principled commitment to property rights, voluntary exchange, and human flourishing actually demand of us when the victims can’t vote, lobby, or file suit?

This panel will discuss these questions and dive in depth to the ways in which principled defenses of liberty and sentient life are not only not mutually exclusive but dependent upon each other.
